About Us
Dot T Ranches is a first-generation family owned and operated cow calf operation. Our family consists of Todd and Shawna Rookstool, Clark Rookstool, MaKayla and Landen Lange and their children, and MaKinna and Bryce Young and their children. Each of us have specific responsibilities to keep our operation running smoothly. We run registered and commercial black angus cattle. The ranch hasn't always been a registered angus operation. We started out with a small herd of Pinzgauer cows and over time discovered our love for black angus cattle. Our herd was all commercial cows, until we started buying registered angus cows in about 2007. We started dabbling in A.I. in 2011 and saw such a huge difference in the calf quality over the next few years we were Artificially Inseminating everything by 2015. As the years have gone by our herd has changed greatly for the better. We started Including Embryo Transfer in our program in 2020 as a means to improve our cow herd quicker by bringing in outside genetics from programs with whom we have similar goals. We are now at about 95% Registered angus with only a few commercial cows that are used as Embryo Recipients. We are very proud of what we have accomplished and excited to see what the future has in store.
While the cattle are our passion, we also offer Livestock hauling Services and hay stacking. We have a 53ft ground load as well as smaller stock trailers for smaller loads. We also have a 6500 Stinger Stacker capable of stacking 4x4, 3x4 and round bales.
Mission
We are working to offer cattle that will help keep cattlemen in the black. That means longevity, fertility and pounds on the ground are very important to us. Temperament is another thing we cull heavily for. We want people to buy from us knowing these cattle are going to be docile, hardworking, low input cattle that will stick around.
